Almost two and a half years after the release of "テーマソング" (Theme Song), the duo Porno Graffitti is starting the year 2024 with a new opus!
The duo Porno Graffitti has just confirmed their return to the Japanese music scene, eighteen months after the release of their last album "暁" (Akatsuki) and almost two and a half years after their last single, thus marking the opening of the commemorations around his 25th year of career!
Indeed, it was in 1999, after the first five years, that Porno Graffitti signed with Sony Music Japan... A label that the group would never leave and which would allow it to create international fame! For the oldest, the duo signed, in 2000, the second opening of the anime Great Teacher Onizuka (G.T.O). While, for the youngest, he will direct, in 2016, the first opening of the anime My Hero Academia, entitled “The Day”.
This new opus will therefore be officially released on March 27. To satisfy impatient fans, the eponymous song, titled "解放区" (Kaihoku) will be released early on March 20. A documentary of the same name has also been available on YouTube for a few days.
“解放区” (Kaihoku) will contain no less than five tracks: “Abi ga Naku”, “OLD VILLAGER”, “THE DAY- From THE FIRST TAKE” and “Ageha Cho- From THE FIRST TAKE” will accompany the title track. In addition, a DVD will be present in certain editions presenting the performance given by Porno Graffitti during its appearance on the stage of the ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2023. Finally, a national tour is underway and will end on March 31 in Tokyo.
